The 2010 Alaska gubernatorial election will take place on November 2, 2010. Governor Sarah Palin will not run for reelection and will resign in July 2009.[1] Although there was speculation that she would opt to run for the senate against Lisa Murkowski, [2] Palin's spokeswoman has stated earlier in April that Palin "has no intention of running for the senator's seat in 2010." [3]
Lieutenant Governor Sean Parnell, who will take over upon Palin's resignation, announced that he will seek a full term.[4]
