Assat is a commune in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department in southwestern France.
Located at the foot of the Pyrenees at an altitude of 210 m, it stretches out over 9.47 square kilometres. As of 2005[update], there are 1506 inhabitants.
This old little bastide was built at the end of 12th century. Gaston Fébus lived there.
