Basarab Laiotă cel Bătrân

Basarab Laiotă cel Bătrân was a ruler of the principality of Wallachia in the 15th century, repeating the achievement of Dan II in being elected by the boyars as Prince on five different occasions. Also similarly to Dan II, he succeeded one Prince (this time Radu cel Frumos) on four separate occasions. Two of his reigns also surrounded the last period in which Vlad III Dracula ruled over Wallachia. He ruled:

  • In the year 1473.
  • In the year 1474.
  • Again in 1474.
  • Between the years 1475 and 1476.
  • Between the years 1476 and 1477.

Iin 1477 repair in Hungary. Few wallachian follow suit the ruler. In 1479 join in the Battle of Breadfield.

  • Basarab appears in the expansion pack of the game Legendary Warriors. He is portrayed as a stereotypical evil vizier to the wallachians, who is a double agent for the ottomans. He is shown to be a very old man who needs a stick to walk, and is also often portrayed as a coward, who runs from battles when his side starts losing. He wields a pointed walking stick.
