Postal service in the Netherlands is in many cases performed by TNT Post which has as of 2008 a monopoly on letters until 50g weight. [1] The mononoply is planned to expire in 2009.[1] Competitors include Sandd and Selektmail.[2]Dedicated post offices, that are owned by Postbank and TNT Post are all planned to be closed in the years 2008-2013.[3][4]

Postal codes in the Netherlands consist of four digits and two letters in capitals separated by a space. E.g. "1234 AB". See List of postal codes in the Netherlands.
