Crişana region within Romania

Crişana (Hungarian: Körösvidék, German: Kreischgebiet) is a historical region of Romania, named after the three tributaries of the Criş River (Hun: Körös) that flow through it: the Crişul Alb (Hun: Fehér-Körös), Crişul Negru (Hun: Fekete-Körös) and Crişul Repede (Hun: Sebes-Körös). It is bounded by the Maramureş to the north, Transylvania-proper to the east, Banat to the south, and the Hungarian Great Alföld to the west. The region consists of current Romanian counties of Arad (most of it), Bihor and some parts of the Sălaj, Satu Mare and Hunedoara counties.

Before the disintegration of the Austrian-Hungarian Kingdom in 1918 Crişana was part of the historical region Partium.

Crişana is also a local newspaper in Oradea, Romania.
