Hellerup

Hellerup is a suburb of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is located in the Gentofte municipality.
Hellerup is one of the wealthiest suburbs of Copenhagen. Large parts of the town consists of large villas from before World War I; many foreign embassies are located in this area.
Sights include the busy shopping street Strandvejen, the beach at Charlottenlund Strandpark and the science center Experimentarium. Hellerup has two churches, one built in 1900 and the other in 1959.
The ASA Film studio, founded in 1936, was based in Hellerup and produced some of the most notable films in Denmark. Hellerup also used to be the home of the Tuborg brewery; in 1996 the production moved elsewhere and the area around Tuborg harbour, which was previously occupied by the brewery, is now a residential area.
