[edit] Career
Scott played for Scotland, Dundee and Aberdeen. He memorably scored a hat-trick when Aberdeen beat Rangers 5–1 in a Scottish League Cup semi final. He was capped twice for the Scotland national team in 1971.
Since retiring as a player, he has managed Aberdeen, Dundee, Arbroath, Hibernian (as a caretaker), Notts County and Raith Rovers. He was reserve team manager at Sunderland before joining Plymouth Argyle as first team coach under Bobby Williamson in 2004. When Williamson was sacked, Scott took over as caretaker manager for four games.
Scott was the 'fore-runner' for a third stint at the vacant Dundee job in October 2008[1] and he was given the job at the end of the month.[2] After wins over Queen of the South, Dunfermline Athletic and draws with St. Johnstone and Airdrie, Scott was awarded the Manager of the Month award for November[3] and, following another successful month, won it again in February.[4]
On 3 April 2009, Jocky was inducted into Dundee's Hall of Fame[5].
