The Julian Alps (Slovene: Julijske Alpe, Italian: Alpi Giulie) are a mountain range of the Southern Limestone Alps that stretches from north-eastern Italy to Slovenia, where they rise to 2,864 metres at the Triglav mountain. They are named after Julius Caesar, who founded the municipium of Cividale del Friuli at the foot of the mountains. A large part of the Julian Alps is included in the Triglav National Park.
Its most important peaks are:

- Jôf di Montasio/Montaž; 2,755 m (9039 feet)
- Škrlatica 2,740 m (8990 feet)
- Mangart 2,679 m (8789 feet)
- Jôf Fuart 2,666 m
- Jalovec 2,645 m (8677 feet)
- Razor 2,601 m (8533 feet)
- Kanin 2,582 m (8471 feet)
- Kanjavec 2,568 m (8425 feet)
- Prisojnik 2,546 m (8353 feet)
- Prestreljenik 2,500 m (8202 feet)
- Špik 2,472 m (8110 feet)
- Tošc 2,275 m (7464 feet)
- Krn 2,244 m (7362 feet)
Important passes of the Julians are:
- Vršič, 1,611 m (5,826 feet), links the Sava valley and Soča valley. It is the highest mountain road pass in Slovenia.
- Predil Pass (Villach/Beljak by Tarvisio/Trbiž and Bovec to Gorizia/Gorica), paved road 1,156 m (3,792 feet)
- Hrušica/Birnbaumerwald (Ljubljana to Gorizia/Gorica), paved road 883 m (2,897 feet)
- Saifnitz or Pontebba Pass/Tabeljski prelaz (Villach/Beljak by Tarvisio/Trbiž and Pontebba/Tablja to Udine/Videm), railway, paved road, Autobahn/autostrada/avtocesta 797 m (2,615 feet)
