[edit] Membership

Since its constitution was amended in 1982 it comprises 21 members:

In 1987 the Board voted to adopt the Kernewek Kemmyn form of Cornish as its standard. Between February 2007 to January 2010, Graham Sandercock has been elected as Chairman of the Cornish Language Board and Maureen Pierce as General Secretary.[1]

[edit] Criticism of the Cornish Language Board

The current Cornish Language Board is predominantly made up of supporters of Kernewek Kemmyn (KK) orthography, with only one representative of Unified Cornish (UC), and none from Unified Cornish Revised (UCR) or Revived Late Cornish (RLC). It has been claimed that prior to 1987 the CLB was representative of all the varieties of the revived Cornish language but since then has become more biased towards Kernewek Kemmyn. In its defence the Cornish Language Board has pointed out that many Cornish users do not wish to be members of the CLB as they are already members of Agan Tavas or Cussel an Tavas Kernuack and see no good reason to belong to two language groups.[2]
