Lieyu, Kinmen

Lieyu or Lesser Kinmen is one of the islands of the Kinmen (Quemoy) group. It is in the Taiwan Strait, on the coast of Fujian. Geographically it is very near to Xiamen (Amoy). Administratively the island forms the Lieyu Township (烈嶼鄉) the Kinmen County of the Fuchien Province of the Republic of China. The People's Republic of China claims the Kinmen County (Jinmen County in pinyin) as part of the Quanzhou prefecture of its Fujian Province.
