[edit] Tragedy and Controversy
In 1971 her second child Patrizio died shortly after birth. In 1994 her eldest son committed suicide by jumping out a window in Boston. The following year she separated from her husband, after a long unhappy marriage. In 1999, her husband was murdered in his villa in Mexico. The crime was very disturbing, apparently his chauffeur had strangled him with the string of his bath wrap. Also there was a bootlace bound around his penis. This death too was shrouded in mystery as Maria Beatrice, nor her only surviving child Azaea, never came to claim Reyna's body and neither attending his funeral. In days after her husband's murder police were unable to locate Maria Beatrice, though later she was found in the Bahamas were she said she was on vacation at the time of her husband's death. Today she lives in Mexico and New York.
