The Selenga (Russian: Селенга) or Selenge (Mongolian: Сэлэнгэ гол, Сэлэнгэ мөрөн, Buryat: Сэлэнгэ гол) is the chief river in Mongolia and Russia. Its source rivers are the Ideriin gol and the Delgermörön. It flows into Lake Baikal and has a length of 992 km[1][2] (1024 km according to other sources[3]). The Selenga is the headwater of the Yenisei-Angara River. It carries 935 m³/s of water into lake Baikal which comprises almost half of riverine inflow and forms wide delta in the lake (680 km²).
